Does your payslip look right?

Type in one month of your payslip and we'll check it against the 2026/27 rules. Nothing you enter leaves your device.

Where you pay tax

Use a normal month, without a bonus or back-pay. We try each student loan plan and each common way of taking a pension and show you the one that fits best.

Type in your pay and the amounts taken off, and we'll show where your payslip and our figures agree.

Common questions

How do I check my payslip is right?

Put in your monthly pay before tax and the amounts taken off for income tax, National Insurance, student loan and pension. We work out what each should be for 2026/27 and show you which lines agree. If one is off, the reason is usually your tax code, how your pension is taken, or a one-off in that month.

Is my payslip data stored?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved, and the page doesn't use cookies.

Why might my payslip differ by a few pounds?

Payroll works out tax month by month using tables and rounds as it goes, while we work from the whole year. A pound or two either way is normal. Bigger gaps are worth looking into.

What if my tax code isn't 1257L?

Add it in the tax code box and we'll use it. A different code can come from a company benefit, an underpaid bill, a second job or an income that HMRC knows about. The tax codes guide explains the common ones.
